I am using CXMB to load custom icons fonts and boots

I am not having any problem with custom volume icons; "impose_plugin.rco"
I can access the photo's folder with out freezing

But I am having problems with custom battery icons.
    If I use any; "system_plugin_fg.rco"
When I access the USB function the PSP freezes.

To test I loaded up the complete CXMB custom font, icon, boot package.
Everything in the pack seems to work fine except USB if I dont delete the "system_plugin_fg.rco"

OKAY I AM ABLE TO GET PSP RADIO WORKING ON THIS FIRMWARE!!!

I am still working on getting Quake 2 to play but this is a major breakthrough for me considering it is one of my favorite apps. Earlier I posted that I could not get PSP Radio to work but that was because I was using an OLD version. To get PSP Radio working download the latest version

    http://downloads.sourceforge.net/psp...6&big_mirror=0

    install that to GAME351
    VOILA!
    HTH

And to all you people with problems with your USB what do you expect you are flashing files from a different firmware!

they have released the decompressed 3.51 RCO and all you need to do is wait for people to start customizing them!

    http://endlessparadigm.com/forum/sho...d.php?tid=2906

sheesh be patient.. custom xmb on day 1... guess you get what you get right.

I am loving this firmware so far. I still have the standard XMB but will be swapping some stuff very shortly!

SOME WiFi Homebrew is NOT working:

Quake2, PSPRadio, not sure what else:
When in GAME150: loads but freezes when trying to connect.
When in GAME351: Doesn't load "Game could not be started 80020148" error.

PSPVnC works perfectly fine! It will not work in GAME150 but works fine in GAME351.

It just means we need to wait for the authors to update their homebrew again to be compatible or someone to release unofficial versions.
Ah, thanks for that clarification. Sorry to stir the pot of panic.

    Now for some non-misinformation:

UMD Region still does not work. Never worked in ANY version of SE or OE (they got close in the first OE), and it still doesn't work now.

There are 2 settings. This allows for 4 different configurations to be applied and be tested. Under all four my JP PSP can not play US UMD movies.

For the sake of clarity, these 4 settings are:
Fake region: On , Region free: On
Fake region: On , Region free: Off
Fake region: Off , Region free: On
Fake region: Off , Region free: Off

    --End non-misinformation zone--

This seriously causes me to think that the Russian programmers are not actually reverse engineering anything. Either they have the source to OE or it's DAX. Otherwise, why wouldn't they notice that the region free system still doesn't work and either fix it or not put it back in?

Surely the methods of doing everything are not identical if this is a re-written reverse engineered c-fw. When reverse engineering something you do not end up with a nice document that is the complete source to the software. You get instructions that you can convert into some chunks of code, but then all of this has to be re-written into an actual program that functions.

So, either this has been re-written with very little regard as to what is going on within the code, or there never was a rewriting process. Someone merely changed the installer and the look of a few menus. (BTW, I love the new installer. I always wondered why the maker couldn't put the file into the flasher's folders. Thanks for that.)

Now a short letter to the coders:

    Dear Russian Dudes,

Great work on the custom firmware. It rocks and so do you. You've instantly gained the admiration of thousands. Mine too, to a point. If you'd like me to admire you even more than Dark_Alex, you have but to do one thing. Please fix the region free for video UMDs. It's a non-feature that OE always added to its list of features but never actually had. If you have it, I will sing it from the mountain tops and everyone will know your prowess and grandeur.

    Sincerely,
    Movieless in Japan

    Exclamation Heads Up

As many are already finding out for themselves, there are many things with this custom firmware that are buggy. If you are considering using this, please note that :

    1. Many Homebrew applications using network functions no longer work.

    2. The battery icon cannot be changed.

    3. The topmenu_plugin can not be changed for some users
(Mine Can't, though I do use the JP version, Possible Explanation)

    4. There is reported freezing when launching the initial setup, usb, and photo functions. This is only appearing when custom themes are applied. The original XMB works perfectly fine.

    5. You are UNABLE to run both cwcheat for GAME and POPs at the same time. You will have to run one at a time.

    6. Though this isn't a bug, its worth mentioning. The NO-UMD function (100%) has not yet been added, It can, but it hasn't yet.

I do appreciate the developments we have so far, however, it is important not to ignore the bugs that are obviously present.

heh sorry if that came out offensively psyberjock i just don't want someone to read it and say "Oh WiFi homebrew doesn't work so I will stick with 3.40 OE-A" and then nothing will ever come of it.. instead, you may get someone who says "Oh some of them work, ok I will install and try it" then they come back with feedback "This didn't work, that didn't work" etc etc. and then like me, try to find a way to get it to work

    In other words...
    1. Many network homebrew need support from the community to rally for updates that work with the latest custom firmware.

    2. The decompressed RCOs have been released on day one by the great Zinga Burga and xmb theme developers are already working hard towards customizing all aspects of the xmb.

3, 4. A lot of this was due to people flashing firmware 3.40 files onto firmware 3.51. Now with the correct files these issues may be fixed.

    5. Are you using the most recent cwcheat made compatible with 3.51? (Released today as well)
    http://cwcheat.consoleworld.org/

    6. Well 100% no-UMD has never really been 100%
