psp Firaxis explains lack of Civ PSP

    via Eurogamer

Firaxis chose not to do a PSP version of Civilization Revolution because it didn't have the resources necessary to complete that in addition to Xbox 360, PS3, Wii and DS versions, all of which are being handled in-house.

"The reason the Wii version is in [autumn 2008] is because we realised that we could free up enough guys to do it, but we don't have enough guys to then do a PSP version as well," Firaxis' Barry Caudill told Eurogamer. The other versions are due out in the spring.

"It's not like we're dissing the platform - I use a PSP. We put Pirates out on it, or rather we had Full Fat do it. But see this one, the difference here is we're doing all of these in-house and so for PSP we may have to - if it was going to come out in a timely fashion - we may have to farm it out. But right now we're just doing all these in-house and that's the official word," Caudill explained.

So, ditch your conspiracy theories. We'll have more on Civilization Revolution, which looked extremely handsome at E3, as we work through all our notes and tapes in the coming days and weeks.

That is not cool at all. Its being released on all the latest consoles and the DS, but not on the PSP?
They might still do it, but I feel pretty pissed off, 3D civ would be one of the best games for the psp, but they would need some sort of arcade mode as well, so that your not playing one game over several days or weeks, something which happens to me a lot on the PC versions of Civ. Oh well, I suppose I can play the original Civ on PSPUAE(Amiga Emulator)

This kinda pisses me off too.. I love Civ and the only modern system I have at the moment the the PSP. They're losing at least 1 customer by pulling this stunt. I wonder if Nintendo is giving them a kickback? (I know they said stop the conspiracy theories, but that's what I'd say too if I were involved in a conspiracy.)

Does sound a bit odd doesn't it, like his, "I use a PSP" comment, which doesn't sound too convincing. I dont use my PSP, I treat it with care and buy it presents, I would never cheat on my PSP.

So what, they delivered an excellent pirates port (does the ds even have one?)
now they make a civ for the DS, and no psp version.
The PSP will get oblivion ;-)

I can live with it as long as Firaxis does quality titles.
