PSP Emulator Noob

Hello, like the title says, im a noob at this. Iv known about PSP Emulation and such for a while, but never did it. Well recently I was talking with a friend and I decided that I was going to (and He just got a PSP so part of this is helping him out as well).

So I looked at my PSP and found its software to be 2.81 and he said his was 2.6. I also read up on the whole TA-079, TA-082, and TA-086. I looked at mine and im pretty sure its a TA-079 cause I got it when the PSP first came out (dead pixels and all). So currently Iv been trying to find a downgrader (I guess thats what I need right?) for 2.81 but haven't been able to find that much info. Any help would be great, and thanks in advance.

For the 2.81, you will need GTA: Liberty City Stories (unpatched) or Lumines. For GTA, you must update to 3.03 and for Lumines you must update to 3.50 (NOT 3.51 or 3.52)

For the 2.6, you can use the 2.71 or 2.8 downgrader which doesn't need GTA or Lumines.

Ok, thanks, guess my friend got lucky with the 2.6, lol. Is there any way to know if your GTA is patched or unpatched? My cousin has GTA and I might be able to use his, but if its patched im kinds S.O.L.

The unpatched GTA is:
GTA no greatest hits
and comes with the 2.0 upgrade, so basically the one that first came out

if it has the 2.6 upgrade forget it
