Cool No Satellite Reception, Signal HELP!

I tried searchin' and no luck.. any help would be appreciated

I'm going to try to keep this as short as possible.. I can't get any signal (reception) but have about 3 fixes under "satellite info"

    PSP: TA-079
GPS Reciever: PSP-290 with 3.40 prx files (one i downloaded from someone) seems to work
    Firmware - DAX 3.40 OE-A
    Kernal - 3.40
MapThis - downloaded v0.4.99 beta, but under help reads 0.4.97 (located PSP\GAMES\)

    CONFIG:
    BAUD=4800?

Then how do you know you have no signal?
I thought the level of that signal bar was just
a graphic display of how many sats are in use.

Those numbers always seem to agree with my setup
(ie. fix: 03 = three signal bars on the GPS screen).

you have to stay in that spot until the gps locks in to satellite. it takes about 2-10 mins. usually.
you don't need BAUDrate bcause it's only for gps receiver.
juz change your processor speed to 111 MHz under satellite info.

no green bars... i assume when i press []square then there should be some kinda GPS working.. when i press square all i see is triptime and the cordinates of my map.. Thanks for the reply Art.. anything helps.

maybe I'm doing something wrong? I've read something about 3.03 or 3.30 prx files?

It's actually - 1bar for 3 satelites (minimal sat number required for position triangulation). 2bars for 4, etc..

Keep in mind that fix is not equal to satellite in view
    - your device can "see" 3 satellites but don't have strong anough signal to lock on to them.

Check the tips and tricks thread in my news forum...

Thanks Deniska and Sleeky... I waited this morning for about 5mins.. and it showed about 7 satellites but only about 5 had fix of 1.. once it locked on it worked like a charm.. GPS on PSP is sick!! cant wait until it get more advanced, like real time.. Deniska, your OG in this PSP game.. keep up the good work.. !
