no im saying that they dont care, thus its a question of morals. me? I guess have no morals. I am not going to go around bitching about a release of somthing just because of some questionable action that accured months that no one has heard from since. why arnt you calling GPF a warez $#@! for porting VBA to DC? It's about the same concept isnt it?Originally Posted by quzar
their patent applies specifically to handhelds, which makes perfect sense. A gba emulator for the dreamcast isnt gonna put nintendo under, because it would be the same as on PC, but a gba emulator on the psp(or any other handheld device) could have the potential to damage them. To me it has nothing to do with morals (recall the stuff that will sams said), it is strictly a question of it's legality.Originally Posted by 1timeuser
yea but ... who cares ???Originally Posted by quzar
GBA on PSP will be awesome, once its working fully that is. And even then it will not be perfect (i do hope i am wrong) :s
Sony will be saying they're gutted about Homebrew being done on the PSP, but in the consumers' eyes it makes the PSP an even better console over its competition ... hence, more salesso if i was Sony i would be happy

so basically you are saying that because it benefits sony it is ok? What if sony were to release an adapter that let you plug in gba carts to your psp? Nintendo would SUE THEIR ASSES OFF. Why? because they own the patent to gba emulation on a handheld device. The only difference here is that they can't really stop this in a court because once it's out it can't be stopped. If Nintendo wanted to, they could cite the same patent and take whoever it is that did this to court.
either way, i've said my piece. nobody has refuted the fact that it is illegal, and has only given the "who cares?" and "it doesn't matter." defenses. I'm not gonna lock this because it was posted by wraggster, but if any other mod here really wants to keep this clean and legal, they'll lock it.
Well the problem is that Sony HAS to bitch about emus on their system. If not, then they'd look like they were condoning it. If they really, really cared, then this site would be down by now. Notice how torrent sites are being shot down as well as P2P sites. If Sony TRULY didn't want us to have it, they'd be destroying the emu sites left and right.
In my opinion, they're just doing it to look like they don't want it. In reality, they prolly don't care that much.
