Yep, I tried it. no recompilation needed, great.

I added to the italian localization pack the
"localization.txt". So, at the moment the ita pack has:

    - menubuttons.png
    - localization.txt
    - help.txt
    - config.txt

    plus the graphical gimp templates.
All these files needs to be placed to the system folder of mapthis.

If someone tests it please report errors/bugs..

Next days I'll try to synthesize the .mp3 messages
    in italian.

    cheers

    AlbertoZ

Hi everyone, here is the Dutch Language pack, included: - Config,
    - splashscreen
    - help
    - localization
    - menubuttons
    - LeesMij (ReadMe txt translated to dutch manually so nu funny Babelfish,Systran text ) The few things not translated are the sound files, don't know how to for the moment.
Maybe I will stumble upon something one of these days.
So go to the mapviewer file on your PSP overwrite all the English files in the system map with the ones provided in the dutch pack except the LeesMij. Check if the localization file is in you system map and you should have MapThis in dutch from now on.
    Still have questions, ask me.

    Enjoy

An update for the v0.505 Beta. Only minor changes to config and to localization, the rest is the same as the previous pack.

    Default Italian Localization Pack

    Hi all,

except for the readme.txt I think everything is ready
for the Italian localization pack for MapThis! v 0.501:

    menubuttons.png
    splashscreen.png
    config.txt
    help.txt
    localization.txt

    to be put in /system

    Sound files:

    message001.mp3
    ...
    message010.mp3

    to be put in /system/sounds.

Synthetic voice is not really optimum (but it's funny
to hear a strange voice at least it's a starting point. )
In the zip file there is a readme_ita.txt

    Have fun

    AlbertoZ

Can't you get someone with a nice voice to record it for you? Both a male and female pack would be nice .

Its really easy AlbertoZ, just pick up a chick from a Cafe or so simply by saying:

    Ciao bella!

    Translation:
    Hello beautiful
Would you come over to my place and let me record your sweet voice for a GPS project perhaps?
Your heavenly voice will be heard by hundreds of nerds using MapThis for their PSP units
And by the way, Pendragon says hi!

That would do the trick
Ps. It does not matter if she is good looking, its just her voice we want! ^^ *Evil grinning*
    Ds.

AlbertoZ: you just want her to say in one go "head north, head northeast, head east, turn left", etc., but then in Italian of course :P.

You can split up the audio file yourself then.
