Don't worry too much about it. My advice is to never plan out how you will approach someone. I actually had the same problem with a girl I liked when I was younger. I was just as awkward around her until I had attended college for three years away from her.
A few years will change the way you view people. Just remember that she is a person too. That means that she is no better than you. She makes mistakes and has character flaws as well.
Also, if you have nothing to talk about; don't try to force a conversation. That will just make things feel more awkward.

I've actually just been staying out of her way and trying to not develop another crush again, because I've seen people's troubles with it (and experienced it first hand) and just knowing that it can get ugly is enough to turn me away.
And, what's so hot about anybody from Pokemon? And I thought I was unrealistic!
