    Default PSP-290 GPS signal

    Hi all!

I noticed that the gps position in mapthis only shows when I wait about 5min before I start driving by car or bicycle. Once I loose the signal and I still keep on driving, their is no chance that mapthis (gps) will determine my position.

Does anybody have the same problem or is it a settings thing?

    I am running 4.97, 3.40OE-A.

    Advice is appreciated!!

    thx

try placing mapThis in the GAME folder if u had them elsewhere now...n if it still doesn't work...maybe u shld try different sets of prx...

however for me wat i did was juz simply placing mapThis in GAME folder and it worked perfectly for me when i was at 3.40OE-A...

Lower the frequency from 333/222 to 111mhz.
    This worked for me.

I'm having the same problems, 3.40 (and 3.40prx's) on and old Jap PSP, MapThis 497 build. Running in both 1.50 and 3.40 modes, running from the GAME340 folder.

Finally got it all up and running, but only ever had it fixed to satalites once. Only ever find 3-4 max.

Is this because my satalite signal is rubbish where i live?

Also i tried loading version 499, but the menus and info comes up with loads of 'J's instead of the info in english??

    Any ideas

    Great program BTW. Thank you.

    1. Turn off WiFi
    2. Set CPU to 222 or 111 Mhz
    3. Some cars has heat+UV shelding and those reflect some GPS signals too, a workaround is having your 290 module right behind the rearview mirror. Often behind the mirror this feature "Or headache for us GPS users is missing."

Or build a extentioncable for the GPS unit.

I'm using 3.30 OE-A and mapthis .499, with the gps 290, i had a hard time getting a signal from inside my apt, but when i get into the car and start driving, it gets a very good signal... ive been fixed to 8 signals before, seen up to 11 or 12... ne who.. try positioning the gps290 in the mid point of its bend... ... Not upright, and not all the way back, in the middle where it is parallel to the floor... ive found i get the strongest signals that way

All is good, on the way home got a lock on, seeing upto 11 sats, so all is good.

Might make an extension after playing with a docking mount type thingy ma bob.

    Thanks again for the replys.
