Although I don't condone forum members calling each othr idiots, I have to admit he does make a very good point.

If you take a look at emulation in general some pretty amazing (and seemingly) impossible things have happened. Its not just PSP emulation either.

To the people who says stuff like 'DS emulation will never be possible on the PSP' well lots of people said the same about FFX never being able to run full speed on an emulator around the first release of PCSX2 and what happened next?

The point I'm trying to make is don't always assume that because the author/s of the emulator say it ain't possible it will never happen. Trust me I've heard it lots of times and seen the results afterwards.

does this use hardware emulation or soft?

It uses a software renderer and SDL instead of direct videoGL. The PSP doesn't have 2D accelerating hardware like the DS, no tile mode to speed things up, so it has emulate the 2D hardware entirely in software. The 3D hardware could probably be used for something but at the moment even 2D games are extremely slow and disabling the draw function completely only speeds it up a few FPS (that's with no video output, it's still being calculated though). The emulator was just a quick port and hasn't been optimized for the PSP.

does diamond/pearl run smoothly on the psp?
    Oh forget that sry...
SO my next question is why is the game on the list if it cant load?

It's red to show that it doesn't load, so you don't waste your time testing it. Nothing runs smoothly and Diamond/Pearl don't even load.

If there ever is DS emulation on the PSP it will owe little or more likely nothing to this.
A quick port of an early-stages PC emulator to the PSP really means nothing.
Its actually writing the emulator and/or optimising and debugging the thing for a new platform that is so difficult and time consuming.

Please don't think of this as comparable to most emulators for the PSP as it will give you a bad impression of the homebrew scene.

There are many high quality emulators with authors who really put huge amounts of effort into them.
GPsp, Picodrive, PSP2600 and many many others are all brilliant emulators of their respective systems.
Deadalus is still a work in progress but even so it still shows a huge amount of work and cannot be compared to a quick port like this.

This emu was a 'test', not a real project.
