Is it possible to use the analog stick in PSX games on the PSP?

I ask because I recently started up FFIX on the PSP, but the joystick doesn't control the characters. Is this supposed to be so or is there a problem? If so, how can I fix it? Or can I fix it?

you can change it in the button configuration in the home menu. while it does control with the analog stick with one of the options. it's hardly different from the d-pad.

i use the analog stick in all PSX games. much better feeling imo!

Most of the games need to be palyed with the analog

You can use the analog stick with one of the control setups, but it's not true analog movement it just emulates the d-pad.
