Very interesting. I am glad that Sony isn't catering to the little $#@!s who happened to sway mommy and daddy to buy them a PS3 at 10 years old, but I do not believe their response to abuse is warranted.
Sure, people going around flaming others with racist or sexist remarks deserve to be put in their place. But such a radical system REQUIRES a "police presence". Not "self-policing".
Why? Because some schmuck being a sore loser after a game, figures he'll get one up on ya and starts reporting you for no reason whatsoever.
Drop the radical bans or start enforcing home with Sony hired moderators. Don't give users the power to ruin another person's life in home. Self-policing has rarely ever worked online.
