how to do everything on a psp

hmmpf. right now i'm not in the best of moods with sony. 2.01 update an' all :-( major pain. oh well, back to wangle a new one out of the store.

I just bought a PSP 2 weeks gone, it was just released in my country 2months ago. Anyway before I purchased it, I wasn't aware of emulators etc... Now I'm kicking myself because I have the 1.51 version.
Anyway, I went to the website above www.psp-hacks.com to read up on how to upgrade to 2.0 in order to downgrade to 1.50 (is that correct?). I'm not to clued up on this stuff, but I just wanted to know if there are any risks involved when downloading the upgrades/downgrades? Such as trojans that may cause lasting damage to the PSP? Just wanting to know before I go ahead and give it a go. If anyone has some advice for me I would really really appreciate it!
