    Unhappy gps290 + M33-3 -> no gps detection

    hy there. I got the latest M33 cf and the latest mapthis software, and of course, the sony psp-290 gps unit. I put the program under "game352".

    I tried using the two prx requested using the ones from the ms0, then I tried decrypting them with a program, and decrypting with another one. Then using those provided from a specific tutorial.
    In all of the cases it is impossible for me to reading any gps data. I read somewhere that there is a light that should be lit in the gps unit, and mine is not lit (if there is any led inside). If I go to gps info menu, it keeps saying me "GPS STATE: OFF" and all the values set to zero.
    Any help? I've got a ta-82 motherboard and I read some forums talking about usbfix, 043.bin.. id storage changes (AGAIN ONE MORE??? are we SURE? a mistake here will lead to an instant brick)
    I'm very confused and frustrated. I hope anyone can help me telling what to do to get this gps unit to work.
    Thanks

    p.s.

    the gps_290_test hangs and reboots my psp, and anyway still no lights on gps unit

    did you try using the 2.71 usbacc.prx and 3.03 usbgps.prx combination. It has worked for me, although I use 3.40 OE-A. I'm actually on the fence about updating to M33's 3.52. I tried a couple times and I could never get my homebrew to work.

    Default I got it working on M33 3.52 Update 4

    Hey, I was getting the error with the usbgps.prx not loading. I got it working by extracting these files from different firmware:

    usbacc.prx ---> from 2.71 (Press X during psardump)

    usbgps.prx ---> from 3.52 (Press 0 during psardump)

    I haven't fully tried it, but it loaded the files correctly with this while doing trial and error. Feel free to try it out!

    Im using 3.52 M33-2 and all my homebrew works fine, the ones compiled for 1.50 Firmware goes to the Game150 folder and the other in the Game352 folders, also you should check the kernel boot and boot up on either 1.50 kernel or later.

    A tips is to never download other peoples .prx files when its so damn easy to extract your own
    This saves a lot of headache too ive heard

    Ive attatched some guides to my signature, try them out and write back if it worked better or if you still have problems.

    Cheers.

    I had that problem too, when i went to the GPS info screen it would say GPS state: OFF. I tried it this morning and it worked! And I am using the original prx from 2.71 and 3.03.

    So try a hard restart...

    Default none of these

    it was a matter of motherboard keys. The prog "id storage changer" needed to run the first downgrade changed more keys than necessary: as result, the usb port was compromised (just a bit, cable connection functioned well, but no gps!)

    Later I found a "id storage fixer" that in a blink fixed all the keys exept the id storage now the gps works! :thumbup:

    Cool
    Do you have a link to the keycleaner?
    Im thinking of adding a link to it in my tuts

    Its either that WiFi in On mode, plugins or downloading .prx files from others that messes up things.

    Thats why i made my "Extract your own .prx files guide" http://www.vampire.se/misc/PSP/flash...x_us/index.htm :thumbup:
