how do you tell if your ipod is 5g or 5.5

i have a 30GB ipod video and want to know how to tell if it is 5g or 5.5

if you just bought it then it should be 5.5 generation

is ipod linux on ur mind or something?

i think 5 g is 30 and 60 GB, 5.5 is 80GB

NOPE! DEAD WRONG MY FRIEND! lol, i have an Apple iPod 30GB 5.5 generation. heres a quote from iPod linux forums (as usual I am carlitx on these forums this was a reply when i was trying to install linux on my iPod(and thnx to them i now have it
