    Default recovery mode

i know i should probably know this
but how do i get rid of the "corrupted data" blocks that come when i put homebrews on my psp
its because of the folder with the % in the name
i heard it was done via recovery mode
so my questions are as follow
how do i get to recovery mode
and how do i use that to remove the "corrupted data"?
    i'm running firmware 3.52 m33-4
