There's no doubt in my mind that Sony simply used "refitted" batteries (those with the LCD display on them) and "reprogrammed" batteries for this purpose in many of their service centers.

It makes business sense too, since should the batteries need replacing, simply order a standard PSP battery and reprogram it.

A fair reason to give sony a little info.

I would think they won't recal the first batch of slim 2000's.

Pandora on the new kernal anyone?

But to do all this from the 1.5 update file, without touching any sony heavy copyright is amazing. Amazing. Amazing. Amazing. Amazing.

I'd like to give a special thanks to the coders who made all this possible. I'd also like to thank those who put in the effort to post solutions to problems and new updates. Also thanks to those who created the installers to make life easier for us all.

You have made me a very happy and proud owner of a newly upgraded 3.40 OE-A psp. It was previously a nigh unbreakable and hassle-to-downgrade 2.81. I did it all within an hour, on my first try. If not for you amazing coders and posters out there, I'd never have dreamed of being to do this without purchasing either lumines or GTA, or paying of a hefty sum to modify it.

Dudes, I am grateful to tears. I hope that you guys keep up the good work and I hope to see more of your good works soon.

    Thanks so much, again.

awesome... now i can help my friends change their psps over to custom firmwares.... i have a couple questions tho.... (couldnt find definate answers in all these 39 pages for some of them)

can i use 3rd party batteries for this?(i doubt this one)

can i use a sandisk pro duo stick (someone stated a problem a couple pages back)

also armystrong stated that he restored his even after his flash0 was erased, did i read that correctly

also i can just plug this into my psp and let it charge like a normal battery right?(im just gonna make one and put it up for when needed)

    thanx everyone involved!

wow i cannot beleive this dillweed...so a hacker or a shark leaked it in order to sell pandora.

i mean how retarded are you?
if it were the case to sell pandora

if you had waited when the slim comes out, you would make even more money, selfish moron

i mean, it doesn't get any worse than that

you idiot you idiot you idiot, wow you are so stupid, i would guess this is the story

a female tells her man 2 hack the prometheus project, and she sells the $#@!, & probably in a 3rd world country

whoever you are you need to understand both ways,
#1 you jacked us by not lettin the project go full throttle on the slim

#2 you jacked yourself by not makin more money

lordy, that has to be the story i can't see another reason for this happenin, it's always a relationship

fvck you and your money... they code, we help, AND YOU!!! you just take it all away, and for wot!?!?!? a few bucks? jesus

sorry guys i'm pretty steamed that we weren't able to wait til the slim's arrival, i just don't understand the whole thing makes very little sense in this community

It really depends. If the third party batteries have an EEPROM, then yes, you can use them.

I'd suggest you look at the links to compatible batteries on the Noobz.eu site.

As far as I know, it should work. Just be careful with the formatting.

There is only one way to be sure - try it

Well, to test this I erased my flash0 and restored - so yes, you did read it correctly

Yup, you can You can even use it as a normal battery if you turn it on while the AC is connected and then put the battery in and remove the AC.

    Good luck!
