Can you change the firmware on a PSP running 2.82

yes. you can use the following:

-GTA LCS (unpatched, has 2.00 update) to downgrade from 3.03
-Lumines(unpatched, has 1.50 or no update) to downgrade from 3.50
-Pandora's Battery (a homebrew psp is needed to make the battery and memory stick) to downgrade/unbrick any psp from any version.
