Bah, anyone who thinks this was planned needs to put their tinfoil hats back on. Yes, it was planned, to an extent. They obviously wanted the attention put on their game for it being more 'extreme' than anything else out there. It just so happened to come back and bit them in the ass. Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo refuse to publish games with an AO rating, and that meant they couldn't publish the game anywhere. Saying "we had to tone it down, sorry" is bad press, not good press. I doubt they'll have very high sales on this, unless their ad campaign is about "Pushing the edge" of the M rating or something like that.
