sooon 3.60 is ours in custom firmware =)
I think that people are using “exploited” to mean different things here...
I agree with Art, Micronut and Sappo even if you could use Pandora to downgrade a PSP Slim to firmware 1.5 and then upgrade that to M33 3.52-4 or Wildcard etc. etc. then it’d be pretty pointless as it would be unlikely that homebrew could utilise the extra memory under such a firmware, and as previously stated, impossible to use the main new features of TV out and USB charging without a “exploited” 3.60 FW.
Hopefully once Sony’s official FW 3.60 is released and those with the know-how get to work on it, we’ll hopefully have a custom fimware M33 3.60 or Wildcard 3.60 that can be used... The only worry is if the Pandora does not work for PSP Slim, or cannot be fixed to do so, then ironically it’ll only be original PSP’s that be able to run an “exploited” 3.60 firmware and the old hardware won’t be able to use the newer features..!
I think we should all keep our fingers crossed that either the Pandora does, or can be easily altered to, work on PSP Slim and that a hacked firmware 3.60 will allow for better homebrew utilising the extra memory. I suppose that those with the know-how may be able to figure out another way of downgrading a 3.60 PSP Slim through some new exploit yet to be discovered, though this would likely be some way off so for the short to medium term it’ll be Pandora or bust...
As an aside, I’d personally be interested in getting the PSP Slim homebrew enabled so that you could play PSP on the TV with Xbox 360 pad (as per http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=72332) as I often would play FFTA on my GBA Player on my Gamecube then take it on the move with my GBA SP. I’d like that option too for FFT for the PSP once it’s out in English as whilst some PSP games are inherently “portable” (read barely tolerable for 20 minutes maximum!) for some games it would be much more preferable to play on a larger TV and also the cheaper Xbox 360 pad can take the abuse rather than the relatively expensive PSP Slim..!
