dude you need to update to either 3.52 M33 or 3.40 OE. These are firmwares modified to run all your homebrew and supply you with updates. You also would have a recovery mode to boot your psp back up after a semi brick. lol and if a full brick occurs then you can use pandora's battery if you have 2 psps if not then make one before hand with a SPARE battery, not your regular one cuz once its a pandora battery it and goin back lol

3.52 gives the latest sony level but many DA fans would only suggest his firmware. i personally use 3.52 m33 and have had no problems what so ever but im not a hardcore homebrewer either. so the choice between 3.40 OE and 3.52 M33 will wage on further, or at least until a moderately good game requires 3.52

    i see i see...

    i guess im goin with 3.52 M33

in 3.52 M33 is it similar to devhook where u can switch back and forth between firmware 1.5 and 3.52? or do u have to stay on 3.52 forever? im pretty sure u can switch back and forth... but just makin sure

and one more question, is 1.5 FW all u need to get 3.52 M33? or is there somethin else i need as well.

    Thanks to all!
I'll prob be updatin my psp tomorrow after school!

3.52 m33 is basically stuck on 3.52 firmware with access back to 1.50, a folder on your memory stick allows for access to homebrew. and besides the update to 3.52 all you need is 1.5 firmware and 3.52 firmware. you just have to rename them

The custom firmwares are much better than devhook. Especially 3.52M33. It allows you to run all of Sony's newer additions AND still run homebrew. It's basically 3.52 with all the good features of 1.50.
