1, small question. could a psp slim even run 1.5? at best the video out and extras wont work, at worst it could lock up completely, or be another new mobo.

Couldn't you just download it from the Sony website? I'm sure 3.60 will be available as an upgrade for the old PSPs.

Basically, what I'm hoping for is a 3.60 custom firmware, where you'll have all the features of the new PSP plus the homebrew capability of a v1.50 PSP.

I'm just thinking would it be likely for Sony to release seperate firmwares for the 1000 series and the 2000 series? Since the 1000 PSP's are unable to utilise the 2000 PSP's video out function.

Then again, Sony could release just the one firmware for both PSPs and if a user tries to use the video out function on an old PSP, a message will appear telling them that they can only use the function on the new PSP.

Oh, I just realised that you need to downgrade to 1.50 before installing a custom firmware. Xo
And since 3.60 is the default firmware, downgrading a series 2000 PSP would be impossible, unless an exploit is found, of course.

But that's my opinion. There are a lot of talented coders on this forum and I'm sure they will try their best to unlock the new PSPs.

on psp slim its diffrent you have to go hardmod the battery if you cant get a fat pandora battery. I did it but I was so scared lol i even tryed to unmod the hardmod cause I thought I broke it.
