creating a map of the UK

Hey im trying to create a map of the UK to use with map this! but the file size it estimates its close to 500 GB can someone point me in the right direction as in what zoom levels to use, etc or anything to get the filesize to a decent size?

Forget it.the whole UK map is just to big.Wait until Go!Explore comes out in January

I currently have a map of the North which covers from north Birmingham all the way up to York and all of greater Manchester across to Grimsby. I skipped every other zoom layer and didn't use detailed zoom on most of the countryside areas. In total it's 1.1GB, so a map of all places your likely to drive to within the UK seems feasible perhaps totaling 2-3GB

its a pain really as i travel all over the country from plymouth to scotland! what is this go explore?
