Dark Alex was never 'gone', he just stopped making custom firmware and the like. He never left.

Because this was speculation from QJ - DCEMU ripped it, then changed the speculation into fact.

No, it means they have been able to examine a decrypted copy of the new 3.60 firmware.

From there, someone needs to find an exploit that gives kernel access and hopefully allow things to be written to the internal flash ram, and to develop a custom firmware that can be installed to both run the PSP and enable homebrew.

It might not even be decrypted - if it is a straight NAND dump, that'd be unlikely.

This would require either an exploit on the slim, or a 3.60 official update file, neither of which are known to exist yet.
