cd cover problem

i got a dreamcast today but it will not read cdr's if the cd cover is closed completely. if will work fine if its left slightly ajar but this means i have put something on top of it to weigh it down.

is there anyway to fix this problem?

Yes, you may need to open your Dreamcast console. But you can also check something without opening your Dreamcast console, check the OPEN button on the right whilst the lid is up to see if the sticky out bit that holds the lid hasn't snapped off or been jammed (a rare case if it has).

no thats fine, does stay closed but won't load cdr's if it is, i have to open it slightly. i don't mind opening it up to sort it out but i don't really know what i'm looking for
