GPS units owned and used: too many to mention,
but mostly Gamrmin models.
Just about every Etrex model, most Street Pilot models,
Two GPS mouse models.
One handheld Magellan model.
If you seriously rely on it,
I think a commercial unit wins hands down in almost every way.
I have found MapThis! to be a great suppliment though, and up there in coolness.
I'm not sure if any commercial unit can use sat images yet which are great for hiking.
If you already have a PSP, it's a cheap way to start.
I don't see why the time taken to gain a position fix
would be such a high priority over other features,
and think the data presented here will be iffy at best.
Note the differences in data for the same model unit already.
