    Default Quake-psp

<a href="http://home.comcast.net/~shernandez1337/" target="_blank" >PacMacFan</a> has released the worlds first working port of Quake for the PSP console, Heres some details:

    <BLOCKQUOTE>Current status:

QuakePSP is mostly working, however it does crash occasionally. I'm working on ironing out most of the issues.

    Video:

Working around 95%, I could still tweak the framerate a bit.

    Audio:

No sound, now at about 50% done, Most of the code is in place. I need to code a few functions to bridge the sound between the Quake format and the PSP format.

    Controls:

Controls are working well, and can be remapped from within Quake PSP, The control mappings can't be saved or loaded from a file yet though.

    Networking:

This is still a pipe dream until someone (maybe me) figures out how to use the wireless on the PSP. Although in the past few days, good progress has been made. It would be really awesome to whip out your PSP, log onto a WiFi connection, and join a CTF game of Quake.</BLOCKQUOTE>

Yeah, just needs some fixing and optimisation and this is going to rock.

Can't wait till someone figures out how to do multiplaery with two psp units & this quake port adds multiplayer & custom mods.

    Oooooo Team Fortress.

A few things about this release:

    - It's based off of Pocket Quake
    - It has to be located in /PSP/GAME/QUAKE-PSP
    - Pak files go in PSP/GAME/QUAKE-PSP/ID1

And nexis, I can't wait for multiplayer for Quake and Doom either .

    PacManFan (developer)'s site is http://home.comcast.net/~shernandez1337/

And the file can be downloaded (until wraggster mirrors it) here: http://home.comcast.net/~shernandez1337/QuakePSP.zip

Another awesome release!!! With improved settings and the ability to play multiplayer, this will be the best game release so far. Mutch better than Doom already.
