Well thats just a complete joke to be honest. Its obvious that Datel are just cashing in on other peoples work, and to make matters worse, they dont have thier own software so you then need other peoples work again to use the damn thing. Along with the no instructions and no support, it makes it an easy decision to never buy a datel product ever.

Datel have been around for over 20 years, making stuff right back from the C64 to now - I don't know if they have ripped anybody's work off, but I doubt it - they have a factory in Scotland that specialises in reverse engineering consoles and they manufacture their own products there, so I doubt it is a carbon copy rip. Think of some of their other product lines, Freeloader, Action Replay etc. and see the hard work they put in - we are not talking about some HK rip shop!

It's called the Tool because that's the name of the official PS2 development unit, which is pretty much a customised PC with a PS2 card in it.

Back on topic, Marketing the product is offensive in the first place,
    let alone anything else.

and if you can use cfw, then you can use homebrew right? - YES

are you saying that you can use the datel tool battery to downgrade, but you cant downgrade it cause u need the mem stick files? - YES, to create the memory stick files you need EITHER a PSP with CFW OR the dudewarez thing above. The first one I did was on Sony 3.52 and I didnt have any PSPs with CFW at that point

So then you can create pandora right? - You dont need to create Pandora if you have the Datel Tool battery

I thought you guys were saying that you cant restore the psp if its bricked using just the tool - you still need the mem stick to unbrick I think
oh thanks. Datel can't possibly be ripping anyone off. There are a lot of things that have thrid-parties. Its like food. If you ever had a pop-tart before from Kellogs then you've seen the other bootleg toaster pastries floating around. Even in hardware. There are different types of psp batteries. Even the new max power battery datel ahs for a lower price. Its still a battery just for a lower price. Does the same thing.

Datel isnt ripping anyone off. Its just marketing. team c+d cant be the only ones with a pandora battery you know.

Default could have told ya so.

well I knew this would happen. I used to like datel products, but this is like releaseing half of a project. or releasing a new device w/o drivers, it useless. save your selfs the money and order 1 from hong-kong and get some to convert it and make you a ms.

    They Reversed Engineered this?
    Hardly!
How hard can it be to manufacture batteries with all the same serial number? 0xffffffff
Read the article of the thread you have posted in.
PANDORA required to use the Datel TOOL!
Want to know how was it reversed engineered?

i've always had a lot of respect for datel, ever since i bought an action replay cart back in the snes days. They always come up with some weird device that makes a stale console fun again.
but the release of this battery, just a week or so after noobz huge pandora release is a little too suspicious for my liking.

I'm surprised at that being hosted on dcemu, seeing as it contains modified, decrypted, copyrighted Sony files...
