Default AVI Play for PSP v0.1

Myungwoon has released the first AVI player for the PSP, this release plays AVI files and uses the Rin file selector, it has no sound but does play rather well.

    He also added this:

“Currently media engine API is not available, so the player is only uses MIPS CPU fixed point. I am working making the porting more efficient and more powerful

    Heres a screenshot:

Thanks to Myungwoon for the release and download from here --> http://psp-news.dcemu.co.uk/aviplay.shtml

looks like the pspscene is unstoppable

Thats cool, I'm still waiting for a good way to get those dual audio OGM files to work. Even if I can re-encode it with a program, it doesnt let me choose which audio stream I want, and sure as hell doesnt turn on the subtitles.

God damn do english dubs suck or what...I know theres exceptions...not in this case though

Default Avi Is A Waste To Get Playing On Psp

why would you guy want to play AVI files there are much Bigger In Size
Mpeg-4 Is mych better And you dont lose any quality...The Compression ration is kinda like this, a 700Mb Avi File can Be compresed to a 415MB Mpeg4
maybe for newbs i guess... anyways
dont go saying where to dl films, a friendly mod edit

    Lightbulb The big picture

Well Youve really gotta look at the big picture guys.
The psp is so kewl because its in essence a palm top computer.
At least thats why i love mine so much.
Programs like this are a small part of what one day will be a bigger more functional operaring system for the thing.
Somthing that is truely necessary if you ask me, even albeit just a glimps into the future.
Some day we will have a fully functional OS on the psp, with all the stops pulled.
built in text viewer, paint program, browser, ways to access our homebrew and play them in a shell inside this os.. ect.. And if they ever come out with some type of keyboard for the psp, that would be even better.
But as i search through my mixed emotions about a media player that doesnt have sound support, It only makes me feel like slaping the guy who made this.

"shadowprophet" Its just his two cents worth.
