Are you running custom firmware? Or official sony firmware?

Gearing to downgrade mine from 3.71M33, only because IRShell is incompatible with 3.71, and I enjoyed running my games from my PC.

LoL it works, nice. Knew it worked when it auto-booted into my UMD. XD

Yeah..successfully downgraded, and upgraded to 3.52M33-4 no problems at all. Yeah, it would have been better honestly, if I had a larger memory card, being only at 1GB cuts me kind of short, so I gotta run most of my games from USBHOSTFS, and load my homebrew from the card.

If you're on 3.52 official then a pandora's battery and magic memory stick are the only method that you can use to downgrade.

Don't buy a pandora's battery. Just get a regular battery (this one is cheap and confirmed to be compatible) and convert it yourself. It's a simple process.

That link will tell you all about Pandora. The readme included with the download includes instructions for using the tools. It requires no soldering. All it requires:

    1. a homebrew capable PSP*,
    2. a machine running Windows 2000, XP or Vista,
    3. an official sony "fat" battery (ie. not the one shipped with the slim) or the one I linked to,
    4. A memory stick that's larger than 32 and smaller than 8GB. A 512MB is ideal, and can be bought from picstop.co.uk very cheaply.

    * Why do you need a homebrew capable PSP? Because you need to create the files necessary to make the memory stick, which will end up containing Sony copyright code, so distributing an already created one is illegal.

If you don't have or have access to a homebrew capable PSP, this page:

has links to pages where you can find a volunteer who will help you.
