I understand that, but considering there are maybe 4 people in the whole world who know enough about making CFW to actually do it, I find it highly unlikely that another person/group would come out of no where, speaking the same language as does the pioneer of CFW.

Again look at the facts. DAX has done this (retire, make a new team) before... Again, it seems highly unlikely that once he retired for the second time, just like the first, another team comes out of no where. Where were these teams before? Why didn't do this before? Wouldn't working on CFW require a lot of time of experimentation to figure it out? Of course it does, its not something someone can just jump into at the drop of a hat...

    You know nothing about statistics.
And if you do why not enlighten us? Since you have nothing to refute what I said, you simply have proven that you are a noob, just pissed off that I may be right and gave the typical noob response.

And its not even just about statistics. Logically, something as difficult as CFW, taking into consideration that it requires a great degree of MIPS assembly programming to make it work (can you name anyone you know who knows MIPS assembly? nuff said) and the fact that there aren't any tutorials or how-to guides on making a CFW and also coupled with the fact that there are so few CFW programmers out there, you tell me.

Personally, I think that Dark_Alex will actually end up retiring and everyone will be begging all of the people they flamed saying that they couldn't do it to actually make the custom firmware for them, guess what will happen.

I have seen stuff like this before, it's not pretty, and would be degrading to those on the other end of it.

    MIPS you say?
Well, as Osgeld argued with me...
There is the possibility that this entire thing is a sham.

Dark_Alex wouldn't pull this stupid stunt, why?
Because people like you would guess it too easily.

If you think that the possibility that two people of Hispanic decent having knowledge of MIPS assembly is not possible...
I would have to call you a racist.
But that's probably not the case.
    (Well, hell if I know.)

I am not being racist, again its a matter of statistics and logic. The difficulty of a task is obviously inversely proportional to the amount of people who can complete said task.

If making a CFW was as easy as taking a piss, we'd have thousands of them, with thousands of coders from all over the world making them.

But they aren't that easy. In fact, it is probably the hardest programming that could be done on the PSP. Why do you think there are maybe 2-3 different CFWs out there and about 4-7 people that we know of through what they did, that can lay claim to creating CFW?

Hell not even members of DAX's own team come from the same countries...

So you're telling me that its merely coincidence that once DAX retired the second time around some unknown team jumped out of thin air? For the nth time, this is EXACTLY what happened when DAX retired the first time and M33 appeared out of thin air.

Sure people want to continue DAX's legacy, but come on, both the first and second time he retires a team forms within minutes of it? Please.

    Ugh, you people.

It could be DAX, it couldn't be DAX. If it is or not, better not to speculate; this will only end up landing him in hot water with Sony's lawyers. Besides, if it is, yay, DAX has become Spanish, if it isn't boo, DAX is gone.

    Corn.

Yo quiero DAX a volver (sorry my Spanish is horribly lousy, first year )

    The thing is.
    M33 never retired.

It would make no sense for Dark_Alex to make another team and "retire", because that would make both of them retired...with M33 still on the scene.

    Things just don't add up.
Yeah, it's weird and could be true.

But I won't believe it until Dark_Alex posts personally saying "I Am Team Void and I'm Being A Big Douche For Attention."

    OMG ITS DAX

k maby everyone forgot theres the team wildcard LE, which the sourcecode was basicly published to every human in the world

all of a sudden you dont need to know sony mips assembly you just need to start comparing code

and considering spanish (which acc to the books is the #2 language in the world) is such a widespread language cant you think for even a split second theres some Mexican, Puerto Rican, Brazilian or whoever else who might be from a country that happens to speak Spanish, team out there making progress

dude even i speak some Spanish and earlier i released news about 3.71 CW (but since retired) am i now DAX?

    hardly

edit yes i know Puerto Rico is part of the USA, that was a hidden political joke, im adding this for the dense

Meh... Those guys are wimps. They quit and cry because some people over the internet called then lamers.

BTW, I know MIPS. Useful for making cheat codes for games with DMA.

If you hype software before release date, especially if you give evidence that has holes in it you're going to be flamed. Almost none of this software actually gets finished. The few times it does get finished the authors weren't busy whining about the negative feedback, instead they were focusing on finishing it to prove the skeptics wrong.

Almost always people like this either couldn't deliver or never bothered. Don't announce something until you have a lot of it done. Even better, don't announce it until you're ready to release it. Of course, if you're just looking for attention in the first place, like most of these people are...

I kinda wonder why people are so obsessed over custom firmware anyway, beyond actually getting homebrew + UMD game support.

I haven't quit gpSP, just put it on hiatus for a while.

Games like Super Mario Advance 3, Riviera and Sword of Mana actually DO work in gpSP, believe it or not. If they don't work for you then you're using the faulty BIOS. Don't argue with me, it's true; the sooner you accept this the sooner you can move on.

    looks like a cover-up for a "i dont want to admit it's a hexed 3.52 M33"

they dont even talk like they know the basics of programming. i'd like to see a line or two of their OWN code ...
