Nope, it doesn't have to be semi-bricked.

Well this is the easiest way to downgrade so I suggest using this, and to all the people your welcome, I was very happy to get my PSP back too so I understand you.

Safer? There isn't a way to brick using this downgrader, this way is simpilar though all you do is put 2 files in the GAME folder and then click X in the recovery menu and your back to 1.5 in less than 2min. Glad to see your back but I think you should have used this but it's cool.

thakn you so much this is going to be helpfull, yesterday i just got my pSP to 3.52m33-4 and earlier today i upgrade to 3.71m33-2 not knowing that XMB themse for 3.52 dont work for 3.71, i semi-bricked it, so thank you very much
