Defrag should always be last. I have a small pendrive where I keep most of the software listed on for cleanup jobs on people's PCs.

Anyways, other than the fact that I like Ad-Aware MUCH more than Spybot, and I think the only free antivirus worth it is AVG, the software listed there is fairly close to what I use. On top of CCleaner though, I'll also throw in at least three other tools such as: Iolo's System Mechanic, "RegFixer", and some random other freewares which tend to catch little bits.

On top of that, you should always try running "HijackThis". This tool is quite a bit more expert level than most, but there are MANY forums where you can post the results from it to find out what should be removed.

Now as for the Defrag last. You ALWAYS defrag as the last step of anything because if you happen to remove lots of spyware, virii, or random bits that CCleaner and other registry stuff, then it will leave you with holes in that newly defragged drive.

As a last tip, along with removing old programs, you can try to remove windows components. There are plenty that you will never use, and some that simply get in your way.

As to the title, I would most definetly not call this "speeding up your computer" it is very specifically "cleaning up your computer'. A side effect is often a bit of speed, but for actual speedups, nothing here really would improve baseline performance.

The best way to speed up my computer is using TuneUp Utilities, it's awesome!

It's probably not internet lag... Your probably referring to low (or no) FPS, in which this might help
