I just got a e.mail from the owner of Speedcam.tk and hopefully he will add ready made files for PSP on his site

If he does not have space to host the files i would gladly donate some space on my servers *Lol*

I got some replies from the owner of speedcam.tk and he asked me if the configfiles could be formatted like this:

    14.83655,57.64076,K:33W02,90 KMH,,Sommar 70"
He went with KMH instead of MPH because we use the KM system in Europe and the ,Vinter 90" option is a change of speed in Winter on the same road. and the ,,Sommar 70" is a change of speed under summer on the same road.

What do you guys think, is this setup doable ?

If your input file is just a different text-based format, which also contains these values, clearly separated by commas e.g., then no problem .

Ooh cool so this file would do then: http://www.vampire.se/misc/psp/misc/psp_swe_test.txt

Sorry if i seam slow today, i havent experimented with POIs and im dead tierd right now, been up for 28 hours

Do you know if it is possible to put poi files and let MapThis read info from this file and show pois on already generated maps ?
Or do you have to read the pois before you generate your maps ?

Would be super if you could put poi files on your memstick and let MapThis show new pois on the fly
"This would save time and not force people to generate new maps from Google etc." i was thinking about the google maps IP number lockout after xxx map downloadings.

That file would do indeed . You simple have to swap longitude and latitude and make sure text like "Sommar 70" is placed in another field.

POI files are independent of maps, they are simply drawn on top of them. If you place POI files in /PSP/COMMON, you can even use them in all the maps you have.

    Very nice
Ill tell the owner of Speedcams.tk to swap the long/lat and maby drop the extra info then

I think he converted a .csv file and i wonder what format the pois should be in to work.
.csv or does any other format i drop in /PSP/Common/ work ?

The name of the POI file should be something like "_YOURNAMEHERE" (the underscore is important!). You can place it in /PSP/COMMON (so it works for every map), or in specific map folders only.

The format of the file itself is: [lat],[lon],[description1 37 characters long],[description2 60 char long],[sound integer]

Very nice, thanx for the info
I just sent him an e-mail and await his reply

If i only knew the coords of the speedcams near me i could flip long/lat in his files and go out and test at least three cams out

But as the old Swedish saying says: The one who waits for something good... (Swe: Den som väntar på något gott!)
