Usb Internal error?

Sometimes when I put my psp into usb mode it says "Please Wait" and no matter how long I wait my psp doesn't go into usb mode, so I just press O and try it again, but when I select usb again my psp says something about an internal error. This is very rare, but it does happen, and it is something that is concerning me more and more. Does anyone else have this unusual "Internal Error"? Is this due to a bug? Is this just a random glitch that happens sometimes, or is my psp slowly withering away to it's death?

Please answer if you can. If not, post about how screwed I am. Purely for the lulz.

are you are on custom firmware? and do you have custom xmb plugins/themes? if you do, try reverting back to default and upgrading back to a CFW but DONT install any special themes yet. test it out and it should work; if it works, go ahead and install the custom theme; if the custom theme messes it up, the pick another theme, or stick with the default xmb
