if its the Fat psp ur on about then yea downgrade and upgrade to custom firmware! most homebrew works fine!
Hi I'm thinking of buying a PSP lite and keeping my old PSP for running homebrew. If I downgrade to firmware 1.50 (I've checked my firmware and there is a downloader for it) will this allow me to run homebrew natively or should I buy a GP2x.
I don't want to play any PSP games or movies on this PSP.
Cheers in Advance
Sly

If you downgrade it, it should work perfectly with homebrew on 1.50 or whats better is a custom firmware which will run all homebrew and will also have a more advanced capability for it.
main prob with 1.5 for me was having to run devhook
to use the XMB web Browser.
CFWs are usually designed with homebrew in mind,
so would be ideal for your ol' phat.
Custom Firmware = 1.5 + 3.XX

id say downgrade and then upgrade to either 3.52 M33 -4 or 3.71 M33 -2
i use 3.71 just because i like the themes and new stuff it can use
heres a guide that tells you how to install 3.52 M33 -4 and then if you want to upgrade to 3.71 M33 -2

i have 3.71 m33-2 but i can not run my back up games .cso files... it sees them but errors out...well with the roms only nesterJnes Emulator 1.11 works.....what am i doing wrong....
that happened for me too
that or it came up with a black screen and i had to shut down my PSP and reboot
what i did is just format the memory stick from the PSP and put the CSO on it again and try... they all work for me now
i think its because if you havent formatted after you updated to 3.71 m33 -2 then they dont work or something
