Crap translation:
Street Fighter - It's Capcom's lauded 2D fighting game series. And now work has begun on the newest game in the series, Street Fighter IV. SFIV is the first numbered game in the series in ten years, the last being 1997's SFIII. On "Street Fighter World," an official Capcom site aimed at the U.S. market, a trailer is now up of a fight unfolding between series protagonists Ken and Ryu. Anyone interested should check out the site right away!
So yeah, the site is owned by Capcom. The thing is, the game was announced in the UK, not in Japan, I guess because the series has lost some momentum in Japan (though you can still find SFIII machines in a lot of arcades). But no, it's not a hoax.
Hope its real. SF4 would be sooo tight.

man... how could it be fake? did you see the damn trailer?? Its real my friend!
And I hope the story doesn't continue after Street Fighter 3... too many silly stories. I hope they begin new stories but keeping back references.
Also, its kinda obvious that this will be a multi-platform release. Its Street Fighter for christ sakes. Capcom show much love to Microsoft these days and PS3 will certainly get a taste of SFIV... Its the Wii I'm worried about.
I didn't get to see the trailer i was on my psp's browser at the time. I saw it today though it looks very good!
I found a article on it

Rumour has it that streetfighter 4 is a capcom USA project... which could be bad news.![]()
I'm not worried, Capcom knows that this is their flagship series. One thing that DOES worry me though, is: "is SFIV just the NAME being used on the HD high-rez update to streetfighter turbo I've heard is being done for XboX & PS3 online play..."
Someone in the know, say it ain't so!!! I think we are all, after a DECADE, starving for something NEW!
the SF series stays true to the classics. I felt perfectly comfortable playing EX and EX2 because while the engine changed the gameplay felt very very similar. A few new characters and stages wont effect the gameplay much, so I am not really concerned with who is producing it.
I’m pretty sure Capcom USA created the travesty that is ‘Capcom Fighting Jam’.![]()
I personally much prefer the Japanese style artwork, plus for the SF games they are much lazier than the Jap created stuff.
A friend of mine heard it on the jammaplus forums that capcom USA are the ones who announced SF4 so it is likely to be their project. Capcom Japan created the original (and best) SF games including Vs series and SF3 and Alpha, the only new thing capcom USA thought of was the additions for Super Streetfighter of T Hawk, Dee Jay, Fei Long & Cammy – not the best (in my opinion) characters in the world! lol
I wouldn’t even be surprised if capcom USA got other developers to program SF4 as they might not be up to it themselves? Sure the Ex games were playable, but they were hardly worthy of the SF license (although saying that I’ve been canning them lately on pops).
Fingers crossed my fears will be over nothing though and Capcom will knock out a quality fighter!
Here's the first screenshot of SFIV from the January 08 issue of EGM.
"Though the screenshot doesn't answer this question outright, we can confirm that the game's graphics are polygonal but the gameplay is strictly 2D. There will be new moves, locations, and gameplay features, while the standard six button control scheme remains. Ryu and Ken return along with Chun-Li and Dhalsim, but beyond that the character roster is a mystery. And then there's the issue of what platform(s) the game will end up on, which at this point Capcom is keeping close to its chest (if you search 1UP's database, you'll find listings for arcade, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions, but those are just guesses based on the graphical quality)."
