Python's Just a scripting language. FoF uses straight python for File I/O and stuff. It's made with SDL\SDL_TTF\SDL_Mixer (TTF needs Freetype, mixer needs a ton of things)

Just Port to KOS! That works.

Save Scores to song drive (port to KOS) Save Scores to VMU - its less than 1 block!

Read Scores from Songs Directory > Port to KOS and have it ask for a swap CD (like if you made a compilation of Songs on a PC\MAC Version of FoF check the Disc and Continue!

I'd like to do this, but i'm not familar enough with python and it's syntax

I though it'd be a good idea, but I don't know any coding stuff so I figured I'd post it here.

Well, whether Python converts over completely to something close to C++ or not, perhaps the main gist (or algorithm) of what it does in Python is pretty convertable.. anyone still interested? I might offer some C++ help to anyone if interest is still there..

i think that porting guitarfun it´s a better idea. It´s made in C/SDL and the main platform is PS2 (later was ported to win32).

also is fully compatible with fof songs!!!

yes! this game is pretty good, supports the Frets on Fire songs, works in PS2, Win32 and a Linux port is in the way. My brother and i take a look on the source and seems that uses an ogg library that is ported (dcastle uses it) for DC.

    some screens:

the game don´t looks too good, specially the band (seems a christian rock band), but the guitar fret effect it´s pretty good and the gameplay is also very good.

I asked the author nicely if it was possible for a port to the DC. Hopefully I get a response

Both games require to much ram and the Dreamcast only uses 16mb.
