Default why does PSP emulation seem dead?

im still waiting to get my psp, so i have not tried the emus yet, but it seems like i cant find anything that has been updated since 2005

is there a reason? or does it just work very well and theres no need for updates

A lot of the current emulators work pretty well.

You have to remember that most of the programmers for them aren't paid.
    And some not appreciated enough...

i understand both points completely, i own emuasylum.com so i certainly understand not being appreciated

is there a list of current working emus anywhere?

my only thing is i was concerned that since i bought the psp mainly for emulation gaming, maybe i messed up, and should have gotten the gp2x

No, the PSP will do the job perfectly.

The PSP has a built in PS1 emulator.
As for a list, I'll write it later.
Be sure to check this thread.

Someone else will probably get to it first.

    Dead?

Why don't you check the Saturn and Dreamcast homebrew scenes?

Correct everything has been made for the PSP now it will eventually die out. Maybe look towards on a next gen console

That's an extremely narrow-minded thing to so boldly proclaim.

The homebrew scene has slowed down a little because the PSP has almost reached its potential. Every firmware is downgradable thanks to Pandora's battery. We have fullspeed Playstation emulation and N64 emulation is coming along.
