    Default 8GB mem stick

Will an 8 GB memory stick PRO duo work on my PSP without the adapter?

Yeah, the adapter is so you can plug the Memory Stick into a card reader.

You can just use the PSP as the card reader without the adapter.

Just put the Memory Stick into the PSP.

Wow, that's amazing. I knew they were "going" to come out with an 8 gig stick, but I didn't know it was out already. I might have to end up suing Sony for my Carpal tunnel after I get this.

Actually it runs slightly faster than a 4 gig card, the same speed as a 1 GB card (20 MB/s)

Why would the bigger card necessarily be slower, or did you mean slower as in just that the time to fill it would be twice that of a 4gb card?

The biggest factor in transfer time seems to be if your copying many small files or a few big ones, my sandisk standard blue 1GB and ultra II 4GB both seem the same to me. I don't think the PSP when used as a card reader can take advantage of the high-speed card's extra read/write speed.

The only issue with cards over 4GB is if you are running homebrew with the 1.5 kernel.

Why would that create a problem if I was running a CFW?
