Pandora Problem *Help me out*

Ok, i never set up the Magic Memory Stick or the Pandora battery. I got a freind to do it for me.
Now i got them back today and i looked up the guides on how to do it. So i've slotted in my MS, and then promptly put in the battery. All that happens is the battery light turns green automatically.
None of the other lights blink..
I'm positive it's not bricked because when i put it onto the charger (without battery in) It loads as normal. Although i can't check the battery the MS has all the stuff on it so i'm certain he did it right.
And the battery is at 100% charge.
So my psp isn't bricked.
But whats wrong with the battery.
Clearly something is working because the boot screen doesnt come up when the pandora is in.
But the other stuff doesnt happen.
The screen just stays black.
Any pointers appreciated.
