i think it will be on the market in do time, i remember a while back when the first cd-rw came out with 2x speed , it was like 200$ at best buy, and people before that were also saying it will cause this kind of problems, that kind and stuff, but look at the burners now cd-rw, dvd-r's, lightscribe dvd-rw dual layerd( got one, theyre' nice) and all kinds of others.

again i think it will be release but the price for the umd's will be equal to buying a umd movie in store.

im not saying that someone wont come up with a umd burner, but sony would fight it.
wow, you'd think that if sony made a UMD burner they would make you unable to burn games... wow, concept!

the only reason i want a umd burner is because a 2gig memory stick is about 300$ (they exist, go to ebay) and i know a umd burner/atleast 5 blank umd's would be cheaper than 300$, and it would be about 4 gigs!

the reason i want them is for audio/video! not pirating games n crap! imagine all the music

and i think slick is kind of right (note that you cant burn games, only old ones like starcraft, no new games can be burned onto cd's)

Um no, you can burn any game if you know what your doing... Its just those older ones were as simple as clicking a button. My friend has Sims 2 burned and it works fine.

    I extremely doubt that.

the old games were as simply as copying and pasting, dragging and dropping. nowadays, u need software that can overcome the cd copy protection. personally, i use Alcohol 120%, its capable of not only copying most games, but it can actually burn the image of the cd to the hard drive and play it off a virtual drive. plus it can handle nearly any cd copy protection on the market. there are also a bunch of other software that can do that, even free ones, but this one is one of the best i think. i got all my games burned to my hard drive and played at 200X, most of which i can then just burn to a cd

no true at all, most of the games have some kind of protection on them, and u need to be skilled in removing them, which most groups do when they release the iso's.

try using ur clonecd or alcohom120% and see what happens to the new games.

as for price i think it will be at first, same way as the lightscribe cd's and dvd's are right now

Enough talk on how to pirate games. Simply put no amount of protection can stop people if they have a burner. There is always and I repeat ALWAYS ways around it. The newest way to fight piracy is to use things like Valve's Steam service. however I hear that it usually burns more honest customers then the pirates (basicly its a pain in the ass).

Sony will probably not release a UMD burner. Though it may open the format up to become more popular it would do more harm then good. i guess we should just wait and see. try writing a letter for sure I think many of us should just be sure to make it formal and well written.

By the way RedKing14CA, I do like your new sig.
