i have another question...lets say you are driving around, but then you get an address....and you type it in...is there a way for the program to just pinpoint your location (with GPS mode on) and direct your to your destination? i tried it, but it was just a striaght white line, and a DIST to MARK value...

There might be, Deniska is still working on vector data. See http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/sho...=2148023534#97.

MapThis! currently doesn't have the code nor the data (or at least not yet) to generate a graph of streets and intersections and calculate a route from one node to another.

However, POIs are a lot simpler to implement, and they've been there for a while already. You can have POIs for supermarkets, etc.

By simply linking a bunch of POIs by drawing lines between them, you effectively create a route. The calculating part is left to Google, the drawing part to Map This!, simple as that .

So yes, you do have to download routes (beforehand or wherever you have WiFi), either through GMDL or http://getroute.nieko.net/.

also, everytime i try to download maps from wifi, it says wifi failed...i will post a image later, and i did change the settings in the config file

WiFi downloading isn't too good, I think you're better off using GMDL.

i see well, i just didnt want to go thru all the troulbe of GMDL, but thanks...and when i make routes, will the software know that my location is en route? thanks...im still reading the wiki, i want to know everything about it...bye

edit: yeah it works, but is there anyway to reverse the pre-made route? and how do you draw routes in the program? i cant seem to go around curves and stuff, or is that possible?

Don't know about GMDL, but on http://getroute.nieko.net/ you can simply click "Swap fields!" to swap the fields; then you can generate the reverse route.

Routes are downloaded directly from Google Maps, so if you're unsure a route will work, you can test it there first.

You can indeed draw routes yourself. Press X to turn on the marker, and press O for a new segment. You can't save this route though, and pressing X again will remove the entire route.
