Noisey PS3

Hello all, I have a second hand PS3 which works perfectly but after only 5 minutes the cooling fans kick in and stay on making it the noiseiest console i have owned! A friend of mine says that his PS3 is almost silent! Any ideas? is mine dodgy or are most of them noisey? my main reason for getting the PS3 over the Xbox was its ability to play Blu-ray but its too noisey to enjoy the movie. i found my PS3 to be nosiy at first, now i dont notice it so i have either got used to it or it has got more quiet.

my ps3 has always been a quiet console, check the case to see if the seal has been tampered with as they might have modded the comp in sum way?
