Default ToME 2.3.1 for the PSP v.1

Based on the Angband work by abszero I ported ToME ToME to the PSP. Like Angband it's an ASCII roguelike game, but for the most part much more involved with overland travel, multiple dungeons, quests, skill based character system, etc.

For the v0.1 version of ToME there are several improvements from the latest .4 release of Angband, which will also be incorporated into it's next revision.

    v0.1 (07/24/2005)
-Initial release and differences from the .4 release of Angband:
-Left Trigger should now act as a full CTRL key, including keys outside of the a-z and A-Z ranges.
-Removed main function from spawning in a seperate thread, greatly increasing speed for any ascii animations like the introduction. Running is now close to instantaneous along with other small improvements.
-Macro interface reverted back to star shape
-Small visual improvements to OSK and Macro interface, including changing key highlight in the OSK to red for easier visibility
-Added previous message to bottom line next to the Battery display since it was going unused and I often missed the last message because of macros and whatnot clearing the buffer.
-ToME now flushes the input buffer before sending a macro with the star
interface, you should not have to use \e\e\e anymore. If anybody can think of a reason this is a bad default, let me know.

Including the src, 1.0, and 1.5 eboots:

I noticed on the ToME website there was screenshots of a graphical ToME instead of ASCII. Any chance of porting this or updating the ASCII one?

Also how do you tell what level the monsters are in the game? I can barely make it out of bree, lol.

    .....

How the heck did I miss this one? Back when you first mentioned it, it looked like just a prettier town to me... I had no idea there was an entire overworld area, 4 main dungeons and a couple of optional ones... and loads more features! (I got caught stealin' from the black market, now they've locked me out LOL)
But one of the niftiest features... (I havn't survived past level 1 yet)
So, I kill a Scruffy dog, eh? ... But wait... it dropped a corpse. Now; I read the help files, and I noticed that 'h' was 'hack up a corpse'... So let's see here... *hacks up corpse a couple times* ... Hm... I get 10 Raw meat of Scruffy Little Dog... So then I go and sell it to the general store... Can anyone say "Asian Market" ?

Well, once I can actually survive a few levels, I'm sure I'll find a lot more neat stuff.
Awesome work, Gendal. (Even fixed Angband's online help bug in this one -- it doesn't crash when you scroll using up and down! (Angband did; you had to use space))

Don't give up on us, now... heh heh.

And Fedu: Use the PSP's Select button to invoke Targeting mode. This will let you see something's levels. (Fang and Grip keep slaughtering me, and they're only Level 2!) Hit the start button to select(confirm) a target.

    Talking

Okay, I just managed to luck out.
Killed a bum in town and he left me 26 Exploding pebbles, which I sold for about 100 gold each. Got me some nice equipment, and popped down to the Barrow Downs (Left side of the Bree map, purple > ), and CAUTIOUSLY killed a couple things till I hit level 2, slipped back up to town with some Jackal corpses, hacked 'em up for the meat, and sold the meat off, bought a bunch of heal potions, and now I'm about ready to go down the stairs in town against the rogues and try to kill 'em.

I've attached my current savegame, and I'll post a bit more as I traipse through the ToME world...

(And no cheats... If you want my heavily cheated saves for Angband, check it's topic. They're fun to screw around with. )

If you want to change her name, hold R and Triangle, and select C.
then press c. To check her log, hold down L+/\ and pick p. Quest list's L+/\ and q. Remember, there's a whole huge ingame help system, if you hold R+/\ and pick ?.

Remember, you're using a graphical keyboard. The shoulder buttons work as Ctrl and Shift... Shoulder L is Ctrl, Shoulder R is Shift.

Reading these was quite a bit of fun, and taught me a LOT about how to play. Reccomended reading. (No, I didn't write them.)
