No PICTURE!!!

Hey there, ive had my 60gb PS3 for about a week, and been happy with it, but i was playing Assassins creed on it, turned it off, and when i came to play it again, i got passed the main PS3 page, and then there was just a black screen, with nothing happening. But, even worse, after turning it off and on again, it doesn't even go to the main page, it just stays as a black screen. all the buttons work on the console, it still takes in discs, but i cant play any cos i cant select them. help wud be appreciated

You could try this:


When you turn on the console, hold down the power sensor for 5 seconds until it makes another beep from the first one. The Playstation 3 will run an output test and automatically chose the right display settings for you (and sound as well I think).
