It's not possible to play Final Fantasy XI on a Slim PlayStation 2 because the PlayStation 2 HDD is only compatible with the older PlayStation 2 consoles.

FFXI Online and PS2 Slim
Hope someone can answer these questions. Can I play Final Fantasy XI Online with the PS2 Slim? Or does the game require a harddrive to play online? If I can't, I know I can play the PC version. I'm such a newb, I wasn't sure where to post this. I usually hangout here in the off-topic anyway. Happy New Year everyone.

No, you can't. Actually, you need an HDD. A japanese one I guess. Just play the PC version.
