Xbox LIVE Server Problems Cause Achievements To Disappear

As if the recent Xbox Live issues hadn’t caused enough problems, it now appears that you can actually lose an unlocked achievement as well.

It seems in Microsoft approach to fixing the servers, they've decided to rollback Xbox LIVE achievements to try and resolve the issues.

Uh-huh.

For you who are wondering, achievements are saved onto the hard drive or memory stick of the 360. So i don't know who wrote this, but i want some of what he was smoking.

It may be saved to the hard drive, but its not displayed on Xbox LIVE until you 'unlock' a new achievement in any particular game.
