    so this suggests the issue with skype on the psps phat was to do with the increased memory (and/or thier lack of insentive to optimize it).

    yeah bit of a lame excuse

    i hope the skype headset is cheap because to be honest it looks a tad crappy

    If that's true, that's pretty lame. Seems SONY is trying to recycle stuff. They are repackaging the "STAMINA" battery for the older PSP and including a new battery cover for the slim. And if this headset is also just the same but packaged differently, that's a let down.

    It isn't the most attractive looking headset. I'd be using Skype out in public a lot while connected to various hotspots. I don't want to look like some sort of tech geek weirdo with big things hanging off my hears.

    This kinda makes me wish the PSP Slim had built-in Bluetooth.

    looks rather cheap and disapointing.
    im sure there will be some better third party headsets though

    i own this headset. it IS the socom headset.

    matter of fact, it's sitting on the table i'm resting my feet on right now.

    it's $20 (usd) and probably around 11-13£
