GC USB Gecko - Now Shipping

    News via tehskeen

The USB Gecko is now shipping from various retailers. This device, like the SD Gecko, allows you to run homebrew on your Nintendo GameCube or Nintendo Wii video gaming console. Homebrew, if you didn't know are programs such as games, emulators, media players and applications designed by amateur programmers and is totally free!

It also has a remote debugger which can be used by homebrew authors for various programming related purposes. Additionally, it can allows you to make legal backups of your original discs for safe keeping purposes.

If you were around you might remember we broke the story about this product in an exclusive news article a while back. Due to development and production issues the product was delayed, but now you can get your hands on one.

We've also taken the liberty of opening up a new downloads section specifically for the USB Gecko. While the main page does serve it's purpose for general downloads you should keep checking back for 3rd party additions to the already impressive library.

Hopefully the USB Gecko is more stable than the standard Gecko.

More stable? How can a SD adapter be more or less stable?
Maybe you had a bad working SD card... Did you try to format it with Softdev's sd-dvd

So is this a way to boot homebrew, etc without the use of Phantasy Star Online, etc?

Yeah, much easier than BBA, just plug to a USB port and open the PC Software. No need to configure IPs or other headaches

Yeah, it fixes problems with some SD cards. try to format it with Softdev's SD-DVD, then install sdload and all should work fine.

I read in other topic that you have problems with your Action Replay being bricked by Wii. Last version of Action Replay is not being bricked by Nintendo Wii updates, and this Action Replay can be found anywhere

Do you have an old Action Replay being bricked? Then contact Datel and they will send you a replacement by the new version! Seems that Datel customer service have improved

So no need to get a modchip to either run SD Gecko or USB Gecko!!
