can't get out of PS3 Menu

Can anyone help please?

I was browsing the menu to see more features of PS3 and now cannot get back to the game icon. When I put another game in console there's a small disc appears in the top right of the screen searching??? I've tried disconnecting and restarting but all I get is the menu page.
